Life's A Beach Layout

Happy Sunday everyone!! I have been working on this layout all week. It was very tedious, but worth it, I think. I scraplifted it from Everyday Cricut (one of my favorite blogs). The pictures of of Nicole visiting the Texas State Aquarium in 2008 with our friend Julie. They had a great time and Julie got some great pictures.

I'm back

Hello all, I see that I have a new follower - welcome Misty!! Thanks for checking out my blog! I am going to try to get more post on here. I am shooting for one a week.

Nicole and I went scrapbooking on Saturday and we had a great time. She got more pages done then I did, imagine that. I thought I would post a couple of the layouts that Nicole did, I am so proud of her. She is becoming quite the scrapbooker.

This is the double page layout she made using pictures from It's A Small World at Disney World.

Here is the layout that she did about the Haunted Mansion ride. This was one of our favorite rides and she did a great job in her journeling.

Thanks for visiting and check back later this week for more layouts.

Finally Thursday!!

Yes, it is finally Thursday. I've been waiting for this day for several weeks. Today is the start of a long weekend for me. On the agenda for today is a facial and pedicure with the best SIL and MIL in the world. Afterwards will be a girls only lunch and then dinner later with the whole family. And sometime in there I will be packing up all (ok, maybe not all - but for sure a bunch) of my scrapbooking stuff for a weekend retreat. Yep, the big weekend has finally arrived. Julie and I will be on the road by 5am to Kerrville, TX for a three day scrapbooking retreat at Camp Chrysalis. I've gone to one other retreat there last October and had a wonderful time. I am ready for this one. My plan is to do our Disney album from 2007. And if I get bored with that (yea right!!) I can always work on 2002 (I skipped that year for some reason). There is not internet there so I'll post some stuff when I get back. Hope everyone has as great of a weekend as I am planning. Hugs to all!!! Dallas

Easel Card

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday, I wanted to put up a quick post with a picture of the easel card I made on Saturday. It is obviously an anniversary card - it is for my dear Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law. They are wonderful people and I wanted to make them something special - and I really wanted to try one of these ever since Aymee so wonderfully shared the instructions. So, thank you Aymee, I hope I did you proud (LOL). I am still trying to find time to make a board book. Hopefully this weekend. Well, thanks for looking and please share any of your thoughts or comments. Have great week, Dallas

Birthday Card

Here is a beautiful card that Julie made for my birthday. She did an awesome job and I wanted to make sure everyone got to see it. It was so nice of her to spend so much time on a card for little ole me. I feel so special. LOL

Anyway, it's Saturday and I am getting ready to spend the day up here in my scraploft and create the day away. Cristine is coming over and she is going to work on a very special project and I am going to try to make a couple of projects I have seen on the blogs the past couple of weeks. I am going to try one of those wonderful cards that stand up. I also want to try a board book. We'll see how that goes. I'll try to post the results later tonight or maybe tomorrow. See ya'll then!!

Scrapbooking Saturday

Hello everyone, here it is Sunday night and I am finally finding a few minutes to share some great photos of a wonderful Saturday spent scrapbooking with Julie and Christine. I had been looking forward to it all week and it just as much fun as I had hoped. I was a little worried about how the space would work out. My scrap loft is perfect for two people, but this would be first time for three. It worked out fine and we even had a special guest for a few hours -- Nikki. Julie nor Christine had ever done embossing before so I broke out some old wood block stamps and attempted to show them how to do it. They got the hand of it really quick and both of them used some embossing on the layouts they were doing - they turned out great. This picture is of Christine embossing some phots corners she had punched. I took some pictures of the scrapbook Christine is doing and will try to get them up this week. They are really nice.
This is Julie sanding the edges of her pictures for her 4th of July layout. It came out super nice. I really admire the way Julie scrapbooks. She just comes up with an idea starts pulling stuff out that looks like it would never go together. And in just a few minutes, it is a beautiful layout. Amazing. I, on the other hand, either have to have a kit, or spend at least an hour mulling over different layouts to figure out which one to scraplift.
And here is our special guest - Nikki!!. She made an elf using the Paper Doll DressUp Cartridge to go on my Christmas layout. She had a ton of fun helping and really liked using the cricut. In fact, she stayed with us for a while and made a gift bag for her friend. But, more on that tomorrow. Well, off to watch the season premire of 24. Talk to you soon.

Baby Shower Card

Hello everyone. Here is a card that I made for a friend at work that is about to have a baby girl. I used Graphically Speaking for the 'G', girl, and the stroller. On the inside I used Doodle Type for 'Congrats.' This was a really easy, quick card to make.

OK, since this is supposed to be a place for me to share my scrapbook layouts - here's the first. This is one that I made with the December kit from Heartstring Designs. I have been getting their monthly "Housecalls" kits for almost two years now and love each and every one of them. There is always a wonderful "WOW" item. I especially like the full color layout pictures and instructions that come every month. Although, I rarely do the layout exactly as they do, it is a great starting for point for me. Anyone who has ever scrapbooked with me knows that I am the queen of scraplifting. Hope you enjoy!!

Wow! Well, here I am starting a blog. I really never thought that would happen. I'm not exactly sure what this will turn out to be, if anything at all. Right now I am thinking this is going to be a place for me to share some of my scrapbook work. So, good luck to me and my blog!!
